Ontario County Democratic Chair John Hurley Endorses Nate McMurray for Congress
McMurray has been endorsed by 7 county chairs across NY-27
HAMBURG, N.Y. – Nate McMurray, running in the Special Election in NY-27, has been endorsed by Ontario County Democratic Chair John Hurley. He has also been endorsed by the Democratic Chairs of Niagara, Wyoming, Monroe, Genesee, Orleans, and Livingston counties.
“We need a fighter like Nate McMurray in Congress,” said Hurley. “He had record turnout here in 2018, and we are ready to build on it in 2020. Nate has traveled across our county, meeting with people and hearing their stories. From combatting the opioid crisis to creating jobs, Nate is the leader we can count on to deliver for us.”
“I am proud to have John Hurley’s support again as I run for Congress. Every day, I am talking with voters across Ontario and the rest of the district about the issues that are impacting them – they know we need real representation in Washington and I am ready to make a difference in Congress,” said McMurray.
Nate McMurray is a native of North Tonawanda. He ran for Congress in NY-27 in 2018 and lost by less than 1% of the vote. Nate is a family man, an Eagle Scout, and one of seven children raised by a single mother when his father died of cancer at the age of 39. Nate worked his way through community college, earned a bachelor’s degree at SUNY Buffalo, then earned a law degree from California’s prestigious Hastings College of Law. The US government awarded Nate a Fulbright Scholarship to study the development of constitutional democracy in South Korea. His academic successes led to positions in private law practice, where he ably represented U.S. business interests in Asia. Nate is wrapping up a four year term as Town Supervisor of Grand Island, a conservative community in Western New York, where he has been instrumental in bringing fiscal responsibility to local government and millions of dollars in new business investment to the town. He is currently Vice President of Business Development for Delaware North.
