Statement of Support and Call to Action

On this Transgender Day of Visibility—and in light of the recent increase in anti-trans rhetoric – we stand in solidarity with transgender and gender-diverse individuals and their families, celebrating their strength, resilience, and contributions to our community, while advocating for their rights and well-being.

We recognize that transgender and gender-diverse individuals face unique challenges, including discrimination, violence, and lack of access to basic rights. We believe that all individuals, regardless of their gender identity, deserve to live free from discrimination and violence and to have their rights and dignity respected.

We are committed to creating a more inclusive and equitable society where transgender and gender-diverse people can thrive and reach their full potential. We encourage allies to stand up and speak out against all forms of discrimination and violence; and to support the rights of transgender and gender-diverse individuals.

We call on all to use respectful language and to avoid making assumptions about someone's gender identity.

We support policies and laws that protect the rights of transgender and gender-diverse people, and commit to supporting organizations that work to advance their rights and well-being.

We welcome transgender and gender-diverse individuals who wish to join us in our mission, to run for local office, and accept leadership roles in our organization.

Let us work together to create a community where all Americans can live authentically and safely, free from discrimination and prejudice.
