American Rescue Plan Act: What does it mean for local governments?

Updated: Apr 26, 2022

Did you know? Ontario County received over $20,000,000 in Federal aid from the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA). So far, the county has spent some of these funds on COVID related supplies & expenses (like vaccine clinics) and to pay employee stipends. Ontario County and its municipalities plan to spend the remainder on other local projects in the towns and cities - maybe even yours! The article below reviews ARPA and how this money can be used. It's a short read and includes an episode from the Building Stronger Communities podcast specifically about ARPA. If you want to know more about how Federal ARPA money is being spent in your community, reach out to your local Town Clerk or City Manager's office!
